Senior Line Lead
Responsible for monitoring Production lines which is a Team of up to 120-130 employees. Responsibilities include all Operational requirements, with a focus and emphasis on: Safety, Quality, Productivity, Cost vs., set Budget and Company Rules and Regulations. Must have experience in manufacturing, must be bi-lingual. Specific Duties and Responsibilities: Assist in managing, and maintaining, along with the Line Lead, a productive, motivated, teamwork driven production line team. Strategize: implement workflow and staffing placement by line with each Line Lead based on production demand. Effectively organize and manage with the Line Leads production transition processes with an emphasis on having effective and efficient changeovers. Manage work load and work orders for lines assigned, making sure that all guidelines are followed from the control point processes. Assist the Line Lead with hourly cost by discussing the hour and per minute target vs. actual cost vs. budget outcome for all lines assigned. This includes recognizing bottlenecks, efficiency issues, and strategizing and resolving those issues in a timely manner. Obtain daily attendance, based on line staffing, from the Line Leads work with Sr. Shift Supervisor on any attendance issues related to lines assigned. Ensure Line Leads and Palletizers are reporting all finished products Finish Goods in a timely manner. Report on any daily cost vs. budget losses on assigned lines with causes in the Cost Report spreadsheet. Ensure Daily Production Reports being turned in by Line Leads are correct and turned in on time. Accuracy is a critical element of this function. Relate to the Sr. Shift Supervisor any potential areas within lines assigned needing improvement, and identify and implement changes per the Sr. Shift Supervisor's approval. Interact effectively with other team members and departments, including Warehouse, Packaging, Shipping, Wine Country Gift Baskets, Product Optimization, and Quality Assurance. Enforce Company Safety Programs- including leading group/ line safety meetings. Maintain a focus with Line Leads for a clean and organized work area including: assurance that the surrounding lines and work areas are kept organized and clear of empty boxes, clutter, and/or "scrap". Requires the ability to correctly identify the difference between essential and non-essential items. Ensure lines are building to Quality Assurance and Product Optimization specification guidelines. Zero defects noted by Quality Assurance daily are shift goals. Build product to specifications to effectively demonstrate and communicate the proper procedures & steps in building product. Be aware of the packaging aspects for all products and communicate with Line Lead. Implement departmental goals and objectives for management. Enforce Company Rules and Regulations. Typical Physical Demands: Function in a fast paced warehouse environment with temperature variations. Carry out warehouse and production assembly work. Stand for a period of at least 8 hours. Must be able to lift at least 35 lbs, including items of different weights, sizes, and shapes. Perform bending and pulling as well as hand dexterity. Knowledge: Ability to foster team work and supervise others. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in written form. Bi-lingual (Spanish) verbal communication desired, but not required. Recognition of issues on shift / lines and quick reaction with corrections to continue output and quality at acceptable levels. Ability to distinguish products by customer, sku, size, weight, color, brand, and design. Knowledge of job descriptions and work instructions for all positions on the Production team and how it relates to specific duties, tasks, and assignments. ASCTRAC (warehouse management system) a plus. Knowledge of basic Microsoft Office software such as: Word, Excel, and Outlook. Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience: Previous experience as a line lead or some level of management capacity in a manufacturing/warehouse environment a plus. ______________________________________________________ Need flexibility in your work schedule?
