Senior Manager, Operations

As a member of the senior management team, the Senior Operations Manager will lead a multi-disciplined team of fulfillment and call center employees to world-class results in safety, quality, productivity and customer service.  This individual is responsible for setting direction, high standards and goals for the fulfillment and call centers and for ensuring these standards and goals are achieved.  Qualified candidates will be results-oriented, high-energy, and dynamic with both the stamina and mental agility to work and thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.  This individual should be process oriented and possess the ability to develop a strategic plan, gain support for the plan, and execute that plan.  Exposure and/or experience in ISO, Lean and/or Six Sigma preferred.  This person must be able to work effectively as part of the senior team in making cross-functional decisions which may disadvantage operations in the interest of the overall company.  Excellent oral and written communication skills with all levels of management and staff are imperative.  Candidates must have the ability to lead, coach, and mentor management at different levels within fulfillment and call centers.   Responsibilities: · Promote a safe and defect-free work environment, ensuring that safety and customer satisfaction are the top priority at all times· Oversee inbound, storage, and outbound fulfillment functions, customer service, order entry and direct sales enabling operation at levels which meet and exceed customer expectations, quality standards and established delivery schedules · Ensure standards for customer service, product quality, equipment and operator performance are maintained· Oversee initiatives pertaining to labor planning, productivity tracking & planning, and capacity planning· Work effectively as part of the senior management team in a reinforcing, non-combative way in pursuit of solutions which best benefit the overall company· Set / clarify requirements and expectations for Area Managers.  Measure performance, provide feedback, and hold them accountable for their performance and the performance of their departments· Keep up-to-date on information and technology affecting distribution and catalog/internet sales to increase innovation and ensure continual improvement throughout the operation· Manage budget and effectively control expenses· Surface and address operational and personnel issues affecting functional areas while providing proposals for solutions to General Manager and /or Human Resources· Recommend, develop, and implement policies and programs that guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability of the operation· Ensure all departments adhere to company policy and administer practices fairly and equitablydd description here ...
