Job Summary
Manage production assembly, testing, and auto-insertion in order to meet production schedules, quality and cost objectives. Manage distribution department including the functions of shipping and receiving, raw materials inventory, cycle count and Repair and Exchange (RXO) inventory. Develop manpower requirements for assigned areas. Direct operations through first-line exempt supervisors. Plan and administers procedures in designed area.
Job Description
Plan equipment, inventory and material utilization for optimum achievement of production goals, considering requirements of quality, customer satisfaction and cost.
Review current customer orders to develop and implement production schedules, coordinate as necessary with other departments such as Manufacturing Engineering, Distribution, Engineering, Purchasing, and Materials, and Marketing. Oversee daily production output.
Establish and communicate departmental standards and practices. Monitor and control daily activities of direct labor staff, including employment, training and performance. Track and report on production performance to schedule and quality standards.
Identify production problems and possibilities for process improvements, and develop and implement solutions, including ensuring adequate supply and allocation of equipment, materials and staff.
Develop and maintain preventive maintenance schedules.
Prepare capital budgets. Develop and forecast department expenses, trend actual vs. budget. Provide input into standard cost build. Track current run time to standard times.
Maintain capital asset physical inventory.
Manage and reconcile Work-in-Process (WIP) and raw materials inventory.
Perform routine management and supervisory duties such as hiring, new employee orientation, training, performance management and counseling, evaluations, policy implementation, employee relations, etc.
Manage Repair and Exchange (RXO) department
Skills & Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Eight to ten years in electronics production operation, supervision and management.
In-depth understanding of material control and inventory management techniques. APICS certification (CIRM, CPIM) preferred.
Must possess excellent communication and team building skills, and have a proven record for implementing positive, customer focus.
Experience required in developing and implementing Continuous Process Improvement concepts.
ISO 900/910 training or experience are a definite plus.
Proficiency in a PC Windows environment, using MS Outlook Calendar tools, Word, Excel and Agile.
English language reading, writing and comprehension, oral communication and math skills to work in Quality and Process Improvement environment where sharing information is essential.
Other Responsibilities
Perform other duties and assignments as directed by your manager. In the absence of manager, perform duties as assigned by their delegate.
Perform tasks necessary to complete performance objectives.
