Senior Manufacturing Technician

MicroVention is a rapidly growing medical device company that is pioneering the development of catheter-based technologies for the endovascular treatment of peripheral and cerebral vascular diseases.  The company is focused on proprietary technologies that provide therapeutic advantages for cerebral aneurysm treatment in a minimally invasive platform.

 

MicroVention is currently marketing two families of products: MicroPlex™ Coil System and the HydroCoil® Embolic System, its next-generation endovascular coil system. Recently launched in early 2004 were the MicroPlex XT, a unique stretch-resistant and conformal platinum coil, and the HydroCoil 10 Embolic System, a stretch-resistant and highly flexible coil for small aneurysms.

 

Headquartered in Aliso Viejo, California Microvention products are sold through their direct sales force in the U.S., Canada, France, Germany and the United Kingdom and through distributors worldwide. 

Responsibilities:

1.  Fabricates complex prototypes, manufacturing process and fixtures

2.  Set-ups and conducts tests of completed units or components under operational conditions

to investigate designs or to obtain data for development, standardization

3.  Records and analyzes test procedures and results, numerical and graphical data

4.  Supports production or process development as required

5.  Set-ups, adjusts and operates laboratory equipment and instruments

 

Skills:

1.  Computer skills including Excel, Word, and AutoCad

2.  Knowledge of materials and suppliers

3.  Good written and oral communication

4.  Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices

 

Requisite Experience:

1.  High School Diploma or equivalent

2.  2-4 years experience as a technician in medical device industry
