Senior Mechanical/Aerospace Engineer

 

Gentex Corporation, an internationally recognized leader in the design and manufacture of sophisticated military life support systems, has an immediate opening for an experienced Senior Mechanical / Aerospace Engineer.

 

The successful candidate must possess a BS in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline with over five years experience. Composite materials and design experience is a plus. Working knowledge of CAD, FEA and GD&T is desired.

 

The Mechanical Engineer will:

 

§ Play a key role in the development and engineering of new products from concept through production phases

§ Conduct trade studies involving cost, manufacturability, performance and quality

§ Provide design direction, instructions or specifications to FEA and design personnel

§ Support proposal generation, marketing and other business development related efforts

§ Be responsible for appropriate engineering review and approval of the change process

§ Work under minimal supervision, carrying out a variety of moderately complex to complex mechanical engineering assignments

§ Exercise considerable latitude in the use of initiative and independent judgment

§ Serve as a technical mentor for less experienced engineers

§ Create written reports and generate/present oral presentations
