Senior Payroll Administrator

Location: UT - Salt Lake CityRelocation Provided: NoEducation Required: High School DiplomaExperience Required: 5 - 7 YearsPosition Description:This role will be responsible for processing one payroll - also assisting with payroll taxes, garnishments, and EXPATS.This role will act as the payroll back up for other payroll functions – such as processing, hand checks, tax review and research.This individual has shared responsibility for the ORACLE testing during conversion. Position Requirements:Process and oversee the completion of one of the payrolls ensuring timeliness and accuracy.• Coordinate with the International Mobility team to pay and reconcile Qtrly payments and deductions on all Expats.• Coordinate and process all garnishments.• Communicate with all employees and Expats regarding payroll questions or issues – written and verbally.• Provide frontline interaction with all employees for payroll or system questions to successfully achieve payrolls are completed on time and accurately.• Assist with Qtrly tax returns and research on an as needed basis.• Provide coverage for other payroll staff.This role reports to the Payroll Manager. In addition the incumbent will:• Develop strong collaborative relationships with all business units and teams.• Develop strong professional advisory relationships with the Finance and HR groups.• Work collaboratively with all colleagues or work associates.Position Attributes:Extensive experience in the payroll area in a large, complex private sector organization.• Proven track record with successful internal/external or governmental audits.• Extensive knowledge of payroll practice and relevant laws / regulations governing payroll, benefits and payroll taxes in the USA.• Rigorous research, analysis and problem-solving skills.• Strong written and verbal communications skills.• Able to build robust business-focused relationships based on trust.• Understands personal strengths, weaknesses and impact and works actively on self development. • Highly motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a small team.• Embraces Boart Longyear values and aligns behavior with them.Key Performance Measures will include:• Timely and accurate payroll processing.• Building a team relationship with all of the payroll partnersThe following list of core compentencies are necessary to achieve success in the operational side of the payroll organization for this role.
