Position Scope:
Execute advanced engineering design and development projects in the Bath & Kitchen Fittings area, spanning a wide variety of products including faucets, shower systems, and bath & kitchen accessories. Work collaboratively with Marketing and Production/Operations teams using your technical creativity and material production process knowledge in creating new products, or in building upon existing products, to be introduced to the market.

Responsibilities include:
• Develop new and forward-thinking faucet and accessory design concepts based on marketing specifications and manufacturing feedback using PRO-E design software.
• Ensure engineering designs are in compliance with local, state, federal and international code requirements.
• Translate advanced faucet concepts into detail mechanical designs for production in facilities, spanning the Americas, Far East and Europe..
• Utilize PRO-E design software extensively which includes the data management module “Windchill,” working heavily in geometry modeling, surface modeling, assembly building, detailing – drafting.
• In collaboration with our worldwide supplier base and manufacturing facilities, develop new components in Zinc die casting, plastic injection molding, brass forging, brass and stainless steel stamping, brass casting, screw machining, etc. assuring cost sensitive design and manufacturability.
• Provide detailed engineering consulting on a daily basis supporting new product concepts and ongoing product improvements and cost reduction initiatives, with significant interface with teams within Bath & Kitchen’s worldwide manufacturing facilities.
• Conduct technical research in exploring new, advanced design and product development processes
• Perform effective project management on all assigned design and development projects, including scheduling, defining deliverables, budgeting, and cost management.
• Prepare parts list using PRO-E and SAP software
• Provide assistance as required with customer problems and Sales inquiries

Qualifications:
• BS degree in Engineering is required, preferably in Mechanical Engineering
• A minimum of 5-8 years experience in new product design/development engineering is required within a similar durable or consumer goods industry involving rigorous mass production processes, and the design integration of metals, plastics and other materials is required.
• Must possess knowledge of process improvement and product cost reduction methodology; Six Sigma Black belt, or Green belt certification is strongly preferred
• Knowledge of casting, forging, and injection molding processes strongly preferred
• Knowledge of electronics, or sensor technology is preferred
• Ability to effectively manage and facilitate cross-functional engineering development projects, work to project milestones/deliverables, and present results is required
• Must possess capability to work independently or in a team environment
• Must be able to travel up to 25%
• Solid PRO-E proficiency is required,
