Senior Production Manager

Manages production of client jobs in the lettershop and packaging operations located in Mt. Pleasant with the objective of achieving a high-level of customer satisfaction and efficiently meeting or exceeding the manufacturing, safety and financial goals.  Directs attainment of the production schedules/goals through leadership/mentoring of shift managers, schedulers and supervisors. Supports the ISO9001 quality system. 

SPECIFIC DUTIES: Plans short-term and long-term production resources to meet production goals and quality objectives.Monitors and makes recommendations for improving productivity. Monitors production quality to meet customer and postal requirements.Streamlines procedures and develop methods that will improve effectiveness.Reviews and evaluates potential promotions prior to accepting work into the facility.Establishes challenging yet attainable efficiency standards for job promotions.  Communicates end-of-job changes to standards.Creates, authorizes, trains, audits and enforces SOP’s.  Reports all errors within department to Quality Manager.Creates/directs/participates in highly effective work teams that exceed quality, output and safety expectations. Manages/develops highly qualified supervisors and production support staff.Sets clear performance expectations and motivates staff to meet/exceed these expectationsMonitors production performance and coaches supervisors on appropriate methods to troubleshoot problems.Communicates production problems to appropriate plant personnel.  Communicates with supervisors regarding shift performance, job priorities and problem areas.Supports and sustains the company’s safety focus.  Ensures that supervisors and support staff follow established OSHA/company/worker compensation guidelines.Develops goals with each supervisor/direct report to improve individual and facility performance.Monitors various production reports/schedules to track quality production and timeliness.Prepares the production budget and ensures that cost targets are met or makes recommendations to reduce costs.Monitors staffing costs versus revenue.  Monitors non-standard hours and use of overtime.  Ensures that staffing is appropriate based upon volume of work/seasonal work fluctuations.Strives to develop positive working relationships throughout the Mt. Pleasant facility.  Communicates effectively to facilitate and improve plant operations.  Works cooperatively with other departments to develop solutions to problems to improve effectiveness.Participates on various committees and work teams to resolve specific problems or examine particular issues.Participates in discussions with clients regarding facility production scheduling capabilities and ability to produce desired promotions. Promotes a positive work environment and fosters a positive company image.





SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in relevant field.

FIve years direct supervisory experience in a manufacturing enviroment.



Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. 

Ability to maintain composure while working in a dynamic environment. 

Proven problem solving ability. 

Strong commitment to results. 

Strong internal/external customer focus. 

Proven leadership, planning and implementation skills.

High level of professionalism. 

Effective interpersonal skills. 

Ability to organize, prioritize and complete diverse tasks.
