Senior Research Analyst - Sensory Product Research

Philip Morris USA, Inc., a leading manufacturer of consumer products made for adults, seeks a highly qualified Consumer/Sensory Study Leader for the Market Information and Consumer Research (MICR) group located in Richmond, Virginia. This position collaborates with the Product Development team to set the direction of sensory and product usage research for adjacent products. This position requires the incumbent to have a thorough knowledge of research methods and to be able to define new approaches and link data to behavioral/sensory theory. An ability to influence others and gain consensus from the team (managers, directors) will be a critical success factor.Specific accountabilities include: Collaborating with Consumer Sensory manager and the Product Development team to define the sensory research strategy and scope of work for adjacent products;Working with cross functional teams to establish sensory research objectives and deliverables to include:oDesigning sensory research studies oEnsuring proper conduct of researchoManaging research in the field, ensuring that research teams are fully engaged in research and research findingsoEnsuring that research questions are answered by the research, engaging teams in new hypothesis and idea generation from the researchoPreparing downloads and engaging teams in consensus building around findingsoPresenting findings to project directors and VP of MICRoOutlining next steps of researchWorking with others to ensure common knowledge baseSupervising othersConsulting and mentoring others to grow bench strength of sensory research teamAdvancing the sensory research infrastructureMaintaining and tracking budget for product areaQualificationsQualifications include:"A PhD or Masters Degree in Food Science, Social Sciences, or Psychology"Two or more years of experience with leading research teams, preferably in a consumer goods company"Excellent analytical and problem solving skills"A broad knowledge of statistics, research methodology development, and quantitative/qualitative research methods"A deep knowledge of one of the following technical areas: statistics, sensory methods, qualitative research methods, quantitative consumer research methodsIn addition to the opportunity to apply your skills toward key business objectives, we offer an excellent compensation package including a competitive base salary, incentive compensation, relocation, comprehensive health/vision/dental insurance and participation in our deferred profit sharing program.BenefitsIn addition to the opportunity to apply your skills toward key business objectives, we offer an excellent compensation package including a competitive base salary, incentive compensation, relocation, comprehensive health/vision/dental insurance and participation in our deferred profit sharing program.To apply for this position, please click here
