Description
A leader in quality paints with a culture committed to continuous learning, Benjamin Moore & Co. has an exciting opportunity for a Retailer Consulting Lead within the Retailing group. Responsibilities of this role would include: Consult with our Company Stores and independent Retailers on an ongoing basis to identify areas for improvement, as well as measure key success areas: Identify and communicate key areas of success for company stores to Senior Management. Measure and evaluate test programs within our company stores, as well as communicate results. Perform business consultations with independent Retailers to understand operations and recommend areas for improvement. Assist Retailers in developing business plans by facilitating the planning process and developing key operating assumptions. Develop and maintain new financial models related to new initiatives: Create new financial models to assist in the growth of outlets through “Branching Out Programs”, “New Investor Programs” and “Store Relocation Programs”. Maintain the Optimal Distribution planning with the Market Managers to ensure field planning and investments are validated through the planning tools. Work closely with the Director of Retail Development and Director of Retail Implementation Support & Analysis to build, measure and analyze programs. Develop and maintain a Retailer Industry Benchmark database including: Develop a comprehensive database of our Retail channel, including all relevant metrics and benchmarks to operating a business. Delineate Retailer types to include paint and decorating and hardware businesses. Create a mechanism to receive ongoing information updates as field consultations are performed. Develop a communication mechanism of database information to create a strong awareness of Retail metrics throughout the organization. Investigate and implement communication tools such as intranet, Retailer portal, Success magazine to ensure information is shared. Manage certain acquisitions and divestitures of company owned retail locations including: Perform financial analysis to determine value of stores, including creation and updating of valuation models to encompass value components of acquisitions and divestitures. Relate valuation analysis to industry benchmarks for reasonableness. Communicate valuation findings and recommended range of value to Senior Management. Pursue all details related to completing the purchase or sale of the store. Prepare legal documents in conjunction with the Legal department to complete transactions, such as Letters of Intent, Purchase and Sale Documents and Business Agreements. Team member in Acquisition and Divestiture projects related to larger acquisitions, both the Due Diligence team and the Integration team. Assist Credit Managers with execution and maintenance of consultation efforts, including but not limited to, business planning, growth opportunities, loan facilitation and business improvements. Required Skills
Bachelor’s Degree in Business required, MBA or CPA preferred. 10+ years experience in business related to finance and store operations. Strong financial statement analysis, financial modeling and business planning skills. Strong computer skills (i.e. Excel, Word, Access). Effective communicator and presenter. Highly motivated, ability to present own recommendations to numerous audience levels.
