Senior Software Development Engineer

Our client designs, develops and manufactures industrial manufacturing systems that incorporate inkjet technology. Join the team in Boulder as a Senior Software Development Engineer.


RESPONSIBILITIES
* Develop software solutions that support key market and customer requirements on our client's unique line of industrial printers.
* Design solutions to solve issues identified by requirements
* Estimate development schedules, engineering resource, and determine project scope
* Write design and functional specs
* Create code that meets design specifications, follows standards, is easy to maintain and is reasonably free from defects

* Achieve project completions across multiple priorities - as the general rule  
* Provides technical assistance and training to junior engineers and other departments (such as QA and tech-writers)
* Capable of identifying and proposing areas of improvement throughout the software development process

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

* Proven leadership in developing software architecture in support of production processes.

* 10 + years of technical experience in applications software design and product development on Windows platforms using C++

* 3 + years experience in digital systems technology

* Experience with inkjet printing technology very desirable

* Experience in real time motion control systems.  NI imagine acquisition, motion control and DAQ experience preferred.  Parker Daedal motion control experience preferred.

* Must have a good understanding of Windows platform architecture

* Experience in Development and Manufacturing Release Processes, in a development and manufacturing company.

* Production experience utilizing LabView

* Experience with source control

* CVS Experience very desirable

* Familiarity with Visual Studio an asset

* Proven technical writing and documentation skills a must

* Demonstrated requirements and testing experience

* Experience in a high-tech start-up company very desirable

* Scripting language experience a plus

* Electrical experience a plus

 

EDUCATION and TRAINING
Position requires a 4-year level degree in one of the areas of BSEE, CS, or CE. Candidates should be self-directed and able to balance a team approach with personal initiative.
