USG has an immediate opening for a Senior Technical Specialist. This position is located in our Chicago, IL headquarters.
Position Description:
· Leads VoIP activities for the company, across headquarters, call centers, plants and other locations. Focuses on company-wide solutions. Develops, analyzes, and recommends architectural alternatives for voice activities and assets, including LANs, WANs, MANs, WLANs, IPCC, software, servers, and network security. Ensures projects are implemented that meet quality and network standards, business/technical requirements and deadlines.
· Creates a corporate call center architecture that includes Oracle's E-Business suite's technical architecture and associated 3rd party applications where applicable.
· Provides technical leadership and hands-on support to various voice and network related detailed design and implementation activities (e.g. directory services integration, QoS, back-end server clusters and networks, wireless networks, presence and telephony).
· Forecasts capacity, performance, and network requirements, and develops plans based on business requirements and internal infrastructure growth.
· Ensures environments are available and secure for system testing, integration testing, pilot testing, internal customer testing, and production - Develops, tests, and monitors security and internal controls
Position Requirements:
· Minimum of 5 years of technical experience. Excellent analytical, problem solving, project management, interpersonal and communication skills. BS in Computer Science or related field required.
· Experience in leading projects and successfully managing network operations and teams. Experience in the design and implementation of complex technical solutions, especially Cisco VoIP and IPCC implementations.
· Experience in Network Management, VPNs, Global networks, WAN and LAN architecture, Internet connectivity, and voice and data convergence.
· Demonstrated deep network technology skills in physical networking (e.g., LAN / WAN integration, remote access, VPN, wireless, etc.), logical networking (e.g., TCP/IP design, DNS, DHCP, directory services, etc.), and Voice over IP (call manager, gateways, CDR, IPCC, etc.).
· Experience in working in a large organization's IT department.
