Under direction, will manage/supervise and/or direct major engineering efforts or complex projects from conception to design, prototype and production of new or improved vehicle systems and new concepts for the expansion of the Company's product line. May supervise a team of Engineers that may cross discipline liens. Position is a recognized specialist within the Company. Bachelor's Degree in related engineer discipline and a Master's Degree is preferred. Knowledge of and experience in the use of computers and job related software (MS Software-Word, Excel, or equivalent software), along with 6+ years experience in design engineer positions in the on-road or off-road vehicle field, preferably military vehicle experience. Of the 6+ years, 2 years would be in project management. Other prior experience would include supervision/lead experience. Must be expert on vehicle systems related to applicable engineering discipline and must have general knowledge of vehicle systems outside his/her particular specialization. In own specialty discipline, must be knowledgeable of the component/hardware suitable for heavy-duty vehicle applications. Must be knowledgeable of vehicle systems testing methods, strong "hand-on" mechanical/electrical testing methods/skills and knowledge; and must be well versed in vehicle standards requirements, i.e., F.M.V.S.S., etc. Incumbent must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of DOD 100 drawing requirements is a plus. People are the greatest asset in any Company ...
