Job Description Service Product Manager Job Title: Service Product Manager Reports To: New Product Development Manager Group/Division: Scientific Instruments Division (SID) Career Band: IV Location: Madison, Wisconsin; Brookfield, Wisconsin or West Palm Beach, Florida FLSA Status: ExemptPosition Summary: We currently have an opening for a Service Product Manager. Under the direction of the New Product Development Manager, the Service Product Manager supports the US Commercial Organization (USCO) in maintaining, promoting and growing the Scientific Instruments Division (SID) service products to deliver bookings and global market share for SID services, including support plans, parts & accessories, time & materials, training, multi-vendor/direct (MVS) and asset management services (AMS). With the exception of MVS and AMS, Service Product Managers are generally responsible for SID primary product lines. Product lines are categorized as Elemental, Mass Spec & Chromatography, Spectroscopy, and Microanalysis. As Service Product Manager, the individuals in these positions are responsible for managing the lifecycle of their service products and product lines, when applicable.The Service Product Manager will serve as member of new product development teams to represent SID Services and ensure product lines have a smooth manufacturing interface prior to product release and work with SID management to develop service business plan for responsible product line(s). The Service Product Manager will also establish, own, manage and maintain the services product roadmap, including managing the end-of-life (retirement); perform competitive analysis on top three to five competitors in market segments to identify areas of differentiation or areas of opportunities for improvement in the form of enhancements to existing services, new services or new marketing collateral; Share knowledge with New Product Development Manager and develop and manage win/loss analysis to identify key issues with service product or sales process and to make recommendations on opportunities for enhancement (new service ideas) or improvement (sales training, sales tools). Minimum Requirements/Qualifications: Minimum BA/BS in Chemistry or Physics or other related discipline or BA/BS in Business, Marketing or other related discipline with technical experience and 3 – 5 years cumulative experience in either instrument vendor or customer facility using analytical systems, or closely related business function. Technical / sales / application / service support experience required. Must have experience in product management and pricing. Must have proven capabilities in business process re-engineering (continuous improvement skills a must – six sigma). Experience in Healthcare with GPO’s preferred, but not required.Must have strong analytical skills; ability to draw conclusions and make recommendations based upon market trends analysis; and the ability to develop strategies and tactics to enhance competitiveness.
