Sheet Metal Productivity Engineer

For quick consideration apply hereWe are seeking an individual with direct experience with sheet metal fabrication equipment and processes, product design, steel supply chain, steel types and properties, and product applications for steel and alternative materials. Specific position responsibilities include: - Product and manufacturing process safety - Identify and lead projects for material cost take out from both product material content and optimization of raw material usage. - Integration of fabrication process capabilities with Product and Design Engineering during product redesign and development to meet above goals. - Support process design and improvement for direct and indirect labor content reduction and improved ergonomics. - Support integration of fabrication process capability with assembly to support DFM, reduce assembly labor content, improve field serviceability and ensure quality. - Support materials on steel availability alternatives. - Support operations on sheet steel quality variations.Bachelor of Science in Engineering is required; materials, mechanical or chemical engineering degrees preferred Advanced technical or business degree is advantageous Minimum 10 years of experience in sheet metal product and process applications Demonstrated project management proficiency Product design experience required Six Sigma or Design for Six Sigma experience is a strong plus For quick consideration apply here
