Shift Manager Material Movement, Electrical Finishing and Shipping

AK Steel has an immediate need for a Shift Manager Material Movement, Electrical Finishing and Shipping at our Butler, Pennsylvania operation.

Duties and responsibilities:

· Supervise and direct hourly employees while insuring that safety, environmental, quality and productivity objectives are met.

· Coordinate both employee and equipment schedules which include slitters, welders, and packaging line units.

· Utilize a planned approach to continually improve our products, processes and services to assure customer satisfaction.

 

Requirements:

· Associate's degree in technical discipline or equivalent experience

· Willingness and ability to work directly on the shop floor in a heavy manufacturing environment

· Strong leadership skills with the ability to provide direction to others

· Exceptional analytical skills for problem solving as well as excellent communication skills

 

Preferred Requirements:

· Bachelor's degree in technical discipline

· Metal, plastic, paper slitting or logistics/transportation experience

· Experience in a steelmaking environment
