Shipping Coordinator

Western Extrusions, the alternative aluminum extruder in America is looking for a Shipping Coordinator who will be responsible for coordinating loading and long haul trucking activities with in-house and contracted trucking companies to ensure proper shipping schedules are followed.  Any company can proclaim superior quality and customer service, but it requires quality people to deliver on that promise; consequently we are looking for a career minded individual to join our highly dedicated team where quality and customer service is truly our mission.

Responsibilities include:

·  Organize, prepare and maintain logistics schedules through the use of both electronic and manual files.

·  Monitor production and loading schedules in order to maximize load weight while ensuring customer satisfaction through order completion and delivery schedule.

·  Prepare loading schedules and coordinate activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.  Reviews shipping and packing orders to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations.

·  Implement operating methods to improve material and performance quality for all internal and external customers.

·  Multi-tasking is a daily event, and the individual should be able to juggle multiple projects without hesitation. The individual should be able to self prioritize tasks & work well under pressure.  Strong organizational skills, detailed oriented; ability to use good judgment in order to carry out detailed instructions

·  Responsible for promoting a culture of ‘Safety First’ within all Shipping activities

The desired candidate will have 1-3 years experience in shipping administration or customer service within manufacturing environment.  The successful candidate must be hands on, team player, who is willing to take ownership of their responsibilities and duties within the Shipping Department. Shipping Office is a Monday thru Saturday operation.
