Shipping Receiving Processor

Coordinate and lead the shipping, receiving, and inventory control functions at the Distribution Production Center (hereafter referred to as DPC). Assist Management with the documentation of movement, control, and the processing of orders. This includes(receiving, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory control)for the DPC. Analyze warehouse inventories ensuring optimal performance at the lowest possible cost. The incumbent is responsible for meeting shipping deadlines according to Service Level Agreements with customers and the freight carriers schedule.

Organizational Relationship:
This position reports directly to the DPC Supervisor. This position will work closely with the Shippers & Receivers, Customer Service, Inventory Control Specialist, and Freight Carriers. This person will be required to provide leadership and direction to others. This person will work on special projects as assigned by management.

Specific Responsibilities:

 

1. Develop and maintain Best Practices and Procedures for all function in the distribution center.

2. Train distribution center associates on best practice.

3. Perform all job function in the distribution center as required to meet service level agreements.

4. Inspect, classify and stock new inventory and prepare a material inspection receiving report for the items received.

5. Responsible for unique customer defined shipping requirements and deadlines. This includes working with contracted freight carriers to ensure accurate, on-time delivery of orders.

6. Prepare and report discrepancy incidents of shipment to the inventory control function. Establish and coordinate claim actions against carriers.

6. Perform project work assigned by Manager, and continually monitor material processes for improvement.

7. Operate systems to include order tracking, warehouse management, and computer program to prepare shipping label and update orders for invoicing. Obtain necessary information (i.e. destination address, weight, number of cartons/boxes, date, method of shipment, bill of lading, price, etc.) from Sales Order.

8. Assist in the verification of inventory to include the cycle count and physical inventory processes.

9. Perform duties and responsibilities as described in the quality system.

10. Perform other duties as assigned by management in support of departmental goals.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

¨ Skills or experience with personal computers, including electronic E-mail, personal scheduling, word processing and electronic spreadsheet skills.

¨ Working knowledge of computer systems preferred.

¨ Must be detail oriented.

¨ Ability to meet firm deadlines.

¨ Knowledge of shipping regulations preferred.

Knowledge of inventory processes and procedures to meet SOX requirements.

¨ Organizational and time management skills required.

¨ Ability to be flexible and work as a team member required.

Education/Experience:

¨ High School diploma or equivalent work experience required.

¨ 1-year warehouse/shipping experience required.

Functional Requirements:

· Must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
