Site Manager

C&D TECHNOLOGIES, INC. is a publicly held, global, high-tech manufacturer of power storage devices and power supplies. We currently have an opening for a Site Manager in our Chicago, IL packing/shipping operation.

 

As the site manager, your responsibilities will be to oversee the safe and efficient operation of the local Packing, Shipping and support functions.  Ensuring employee health and safety, as well as environmental compliance, are held in paramount importance.

Specific Responsibilities include direct supervision of shift supervisors and indirect responsibility of approximately 45 production employees ensuring:

·  Conformance to quality specifications and process requirements

·  On time delivery of product

·  Oversees and monitors all environmental, health and safety programs and compliance, and become a champion for safety and efficiency in all operations. *

·  Manage all operations to budgeted or targeted costs, and deal with all cost variances swiftly and effectively. *

·  Train and develop employees

·  Ensure continued and improved packing and shipping

·  Administer and evaluate programs of continuous improvement in all areas of performance, track results, generate management reports and handle special projects as assigned.

 Minimum Qualifications (education, skills, knowledge, experience, etc.)

·  Engineering or business degree preferred, and 3-5 years related packing and shipping experience, including supervision

·  Managerial experience in a lean, process driven packing and shipping environment desired (“Black Belt Certification” preferred)

·  Able to organize, direct, motivate and communicate with people; prior training or teaching experience a plus

·  Broad knowledge of management techniques, including but not limited to:  packing and shipping, lean, financial planning, personnel management, industrial engineering, knowledge and enthusiastic support of health and safety regulations
