" Participates in the analysis of software requirements." Designs software features of moderate complexity and participates in the design of more complex features. " Documents design specifications." Participates in design reviews." Participates in peer reviews and code inspections." Performs and reports on debugging and unit testing of software features and products." Actively drives the integration of software features on target hardware platforms." Interfaces with electrical, firmware, and other engineers to ensure software/hardware compatibility." Participates in the verification and validation of software products, including preparation of test specifications and execution of test protocols." Frequently assists technical support in troubleshooting systems in the field." Writes product documentation." Provides inputs into development estimates regarding own deliverables, and deliverables assign to others." Tracks own project progress and reports status and issues to R&D manager." Remains up-to-date on latest software development technologies and methodologies." Participates in continuous process improvement activities and initiatives." Performs other duties as assigned by R&D manager." Mentors and trains junior engineers." 2-8 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor s degree, or 1-2 years with a Master s" Must excel in high pressure environments with aggressive deadlines" Excellent written and oral communication skills" Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills" Ability to work both independently and as a team member" Proficient with programming languages such as C#, C++, Visual Basic, and Java" Working knowledge of development environments such as Microsoft Visual Studio .Net, Netbeans, IBM WebSphere, BEA Weblogic" Experience with the development of Web sites, applications, and services using technologies such as DHTML, Javascript, Java Applets, Macromedia Flash, CSS, and XML" Understanding of database servers and applications technologies based on Microsoft SQL, Oracle, and Sybase SQL including ODBC or JDBC" Programming knowledge on operating systems including Microsoft Windows XP, Unix, and Linux" Expert knowledge of Object Oriented Analysis and Design methodologies including the Unified Modeling Language (UML)" Working knowledge and understanding of the basic principles, theories, concepts, and practices in the applicable area of engineering/technical specialization" Proven ability to write clear technical documentation" 2-8 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor s degree, or 1-2 years with a Master s
