And we welcome anyone who shares our commitment to ingenuity and excellence.EOE/AA EmployerPrincipal Duties: This position is responsible for the identification, development, and implementation of global sourcing strategies, relative to the purchases of major and strategic commodities and services including finished goods.  This includes interfacing with all facets of supply chain management including manufacturing, engineering, quality, and suppliers` management staffs.  Works to ensure that suppliers are meeting performance expectations as defined by the corporation.   Specific areas of responsibility include: Responsibility for annual Global Expenditures up to, or approximately $100,000,000. Manage commercial relationships with key suppliers servicing the Europe, and cross business groups and regions for Johnson Controls, Inc. Identify global sourcing opportunities in support of Johnson Controls cost reduction objectives. Manage and/or coordinate “Purchased requirement as necessary”,  with possible interaction with the following groups: Systems Products, Airside/Chiller Products, Mexico & Latin American, Europe, Middle East, and Service & Service Parts. Support “Global Sourcing” to prioritize and implement Johnson Controls cost reduction projects, Coordinate with other Sourcing Managers regarding common global sourcing activities / opportunities. Engage and coordinate Engineering, and Advanced Engineering, in new design / redesign activities. Identify and proliferate “best practices” between Business Units and plants pertaining to materials control and purchasing procedures. Work in conjunction with the Corporate team and appropriate personnel regarding procurement of Capital Equipment, Services and Logistic requirements.  Bachelors degree in Engineering, Business or related field. Four to six years experience in purchasing or related discipline. MBA desired.  Leadership and strategic skills. Outstanding professional and written verbal communication skills. Familiarity with business and contract law as applied to supplier relationships. Strong negotiating skills. Exposure to global sourcing.
