Manufacturing/Production/Operations Relevant Work Experience: 7+ to 10 Years Career Level: Experienced (Non-Manager) Education Level: Bachelor's Degree Contact Information Reference Code: 1996 Job Description Sr. Buyer/Planner   1.  Has full responsibility for performance of assigned items including the review of MRP output and placement of buys on assigned items including first time buys. 2.  Responsible for the performance and accuracy of clerical activities in relation to assigned items and for quality of detail as in lead-times, cost changes and delivery schedules. 3.  Responsible for on-time delivery of assigned items as well as timely response to inquiries for information. Coordinates and controls return and replacement of defective materials. 4.  Has full responsibility for supplier performance measurements and corrective actions. 5.  Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of tooling and processing methods of all types of fabricated parts and components. 6.  Performs special projects as assigned including new product introduction and coordination of phase in/phase out of new and old products. 7.  Maintains optimum inventory levels according to master plan at SHURflo, supplier base, and Kanban analysis. 8.  Improves the master schedule validity by communication MRP problems to master scheduler and jointly achieving a resolution. 9.  Performs source comparison and makes recommendations. 10.  Demonstrates sound judgement and keeps the Purchasing Manager informed at all times while exercising team spirit and supporting team goals. • Minimum eight years experience in Purchasing and two years planning experience in a manufacturing environment. • Must have knowledge of tooling and processing methods of all types of fabricated parts and components. • Must have the ability to read and understand engineering blueprints, tolerances and specifications. • Working knowledge of Demand Flow, JIT, Lean Manufacturing procurement a plus. • Must have knowledge of tooling and processing methods of all types of fabricated parts and components. • Must have prior knowledge of computerized material requirements planning systems. • NAPA, APICS, CPM or CPIM certification desirable. • Must have a working knowledge of industry terminology, processes, work-flow and materials. • Must have a mature character, excellent people skills and sound ethics. • Three years experience in International Procurement and contract negotiations required.
