Purpose: Provides support to manufacturing and materials department by ensuring purchased parts meet quality and reliability requirements with the lowest total cost ownership by performing the following duties. Principle Accountabilities: Interfaces with Test Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers and suppliers. Performs failure analysis or arranges for such work to be subcontracted or performed by supplier. Coordinates costs associated with supplier related problems and forwards information to purchasing for cost recovery. Coordinates activities with Incoming Quality Assurance (IQA) Inspectors to establish programs for qualifications and monitoring of electronic component supplier and supplier processes. Implements with Quality, the corrective actions required for electronic component functional defects found in the manufacturing process. Drives root cause analysis and corrective action with suppliers component functional defects. Performs various procedures i.e. Bag & Tag, non-conformant material (NCM) returns, moisture sensitive parts-handling and storage, score card quality inputs and supplier audits as required. Conducts supplier capability analysis and certification. Leads Quality Supplier Review (QSR) training. Analysis reliability and capability issues with customers and suppliers. Represents Solectron to industry committees. Performs reliability analysis as required. Contacts customer on component failure analysis.   Typically requires 6 years of experience in test engineering in the high technology electronics industry or related field. Tipically requires a Bachelor's degree in realted field or equivalent experience. Demonstrates advanced operations, technical and people and/or process skills as well as customer (external and internal) relationship skills. Demonstrates expert knowledge of the function and a thorough understanding of Flextronics and related business. Demonstrates knowledge of multiple functional technologies/processes, industries or functions and understanding of interdependencies of such processes at the site.
