Products are to be marketable and meet established performance specifications and fulfill corporate profit goals. This position reports to the Director of Application Engineering.Required Skills

Conducts feasibility study for development project to ascertain capability of design and manufacture of product. Performs design work to develop and engineer new products to meet specifications and tolerances that can be manufactured at favorable costs. Selects components considering quality and performance in relationship with other parts and costs. Coordinates design engineering processes for specific product lines or engineering functions. Prepares development model test procedures and specifies test limits for evaluating conformity with performance requirements. Reviews and approves drawings and bill of material. Prepares preliminary instructions for new products and works with Marketing in final preparation of instructions. Evaluates pre-production models to confirm and test design. Develops process improvements for team activities. Seeks innovative technologies for team activities. Assists customers, representatives, and production employees as needed with application issues. Required Experience



Education:  B.S. degree in appropriate engineering discipline, plus 8 years demonstrated capability with increasing responsibility.

Experience: 3 years experience.

Skills: Working knowledge of AutoCAD, ability to develop reports and effective correspondence; and ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
