Position Description:
Job Description:As an Electronic Engineer working in a high technology, BioTech manufacturing environment, you will provide support for instrumentation and consumables manufacturing. You will contribute to both sustaining and new development efforts. You will perform troubleshooting on optical, mechanical, electrical and fluidics systems. You will develop and define opto/electro/mechanical testing to improve equipment manufacturability.Job Duties:• Support instrument manufacturing by troubleshooting manufacturing problems that cause work stoppage. Recommends and implements corrective actions.• Document existing product and test fixture designs. This includes creating schematic drawings.• Design and/or debug manufacturing test fixtures for electronic and electromechanical subassemblies and train manufacturing on its use.• Develop and update work instructions and bill of materials. Manage and release change orders.• Provides training and leadership to production personnel on procedure, process, and equipment changes.• Works in team environment to review manufacturing activities and leads the implementation of process improvements of electrical and electromechanical components.• Works closely with R&D scientists and engineers to develop and aid in the transition of new products and processes to manufacturing. Helps develop production test plans, requirements and specifications. • Develops verification requirements and/or validation protocols. Performs V&V activities and document findings. • Specifies and/or validates test processes and equipment to be used by external suppliers (i.e. board level tests developed by contract manufacturing services).All listed tasks and responsibilities are deemed as essential functions to this position; however, business conditions may require reasonable accommodations for additional task and responsibilities.Education and Experience:• BSEE with 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment. • Preference will be given to candidates who have experience in building instrumentation.• Proficient skills reading schematics (OrCAD), selecting electronic components, PCB layout (PADS), and cable and harness design.• The ability to utilize digital and analog oscilloscopes and RF spectrum analyzers. • Ability to analyze complex analog and digital circuits for determining operation and troubleshooting of opto/electro/mechanical assemblies, and optical detectors and sensors.• Ability to read mechanical assembly drawings, and Bill of Materials (BOM).• Experience with FPGA's, PLC's, and laser system alignment is preferred.• Experience with C# and LabView.• Experience with IEEE, IPC, and ASME Y14.5M standards preferred.• Excellent understanding of mathematics and statistical theory for electrical engineering and application to problems. • Experience working with external suppliers and contract manufacturers.• Excellent time management, effective verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work as a member of a cross-functional team or independently.• Experience operating under ISO 9001, ISO 13485, or cGMP regulated industry is preferred.• Experience with fluidics and organic chemistry processes is a plus.
