Scope of Position (i.e. projects involved with and role within group):
Apply knowledge of engineering principles and practices to effectively accomplish technical assignments and projects. Makes decisions independently based upon sound engineering and scientific methods. Actively participates within and beyond department boundaries to resolve important equipment and process issues. Enhance manufacturing capabilities through the implementation of new ideas and methods. Independently executes projects to fulfill department goals and objectives in direct support of manufacturing and operations of CELCOR products.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
• Develop Project plans, timelines, cost estimates for new equipment as well as equipment upgrades to meet the overall manufacturing and operations objectives.
• Prepare cost justifications and capital requests for any new process improvements or equipment purchases that may be required to achieve project goals.
• Interface with operators, team leaders and peers to develop and implement process, equipment, or safety improvements into manufacturing.
• Manage all aspects of bringing new processes / equipment into production, including preparation of financial justification, specifying, purchasing, as well as tracking all spending related to the project. Develop maintenance and operator training documentation, conducting equipment qualification and initial training of production personnel, and make provisions for repair parts stocking levels. Formally document all aspects of the project
• Support the transfer of new equipment related to substrate technology, materials, or processes from RD&E to production. Provide engineering support during equipment development, develop plans as to how the equipment/processes will be employed into production and ensure that the new technology is repeatable in a production environment prior to transfer. Ensure all production and maintenance documentation is completed such as Spare Parts, PM's, and calibration.

40+, some weekend duty, 6 to 7 times / year
Required Education (minimum required for consideration):
BS/MS Mechanical Engineering
Required Years and Area of Experience (minimum required for consideration):
5 years or more of hands on experience
Required Skills:
1. High Level of technical curiosity that will enable unique solutions to the technical challenges incumbent in this position.
2. High level of fundamental understanding of the process and materials to enable the development of cost effective products and machine systems.
3. Familiar with state of the art technologies in the following areas: Electro-mechanical drive systems, Fluid power, pneumatics, material handling, alignment, part sensing, and safety standards.
4. Ability to effectively manage external machine builders and system integrators for detail design, build and installation of machine system
5. Ability to work in a team based environment and work across organizational boundaries to integrate solutions.
6. Self starter results oriented and high commitment / energy
7. Sound problem solving and decision making processes and skills
