Job Title: Sr. Mechanical / Equipment Engineer

Scope of Position:
The successful candidate will provide mechanical engineering support to the Diesel Light Duty Filters (LDF) manufacturing organization in the Forming area (extrusion, drying, cutting).
Focus will be on maintaining and improving existing equipment as well as coordination with project teams on the development and implementation of projects to improve process capability and capacity.
Projects involved with:
- Developing and executing a technology plan consistent with stage 4 -5 mfg.
- Extrusion, Drying, Cutting, Material handling mechanical systems improvements
- Maintenance and improvement of Twin Screw extruder to extend component life and reduce variability.
- Motion control and handling system improvements.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
- Participation in daily production meeting to review performance and set short term actions
- Monitoring of equipment variables and downtime resolution
- OEE improvement
- Equipment design/re-design and continuous improvement
- Maintenance management and supervision
- Performance tracking and identification/resolution of issues
- Resource assignment and allocations
- Operator training
Travel Requirements:
Limited – occasional vendor visit, core technology meetings.
Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time:
40-50 hrs/wk, call-ins, coverage as necessary
Required Skills:
1. Knowledge of Autocad/Solidworks
2. Machine design experience
3. Flexible- Able to adapt to continuous changes expected in establishment of a manufacturing operation

2. Experience in the processing of ceramic materials
