Sr. Microbiologist/Microbiologist III/Microbiologist II

Teva Parenteral Medicines has an excellent opportunity for Sr. Microbiologist/Microbiologist III/Microbiologist II. This position performs all Microbiological tests, and develops methods. Trains and reviews the work of less senior level Microbiologists / Technicians. Responsibilities: * Performs Microbiological testing on Raw Material, Finished Products and Stability samples - such as Sterility Testing, Bacterial Endotoxin testing, Particulate Matter testing, Bioburden test, Antibiotic assays, Microbial Limits test. * Develop and validate methods - perform Bacteriostasis and Fungistasis test, Inhibition and Enhancement test, Preservative Effectiveness test, Container Closure Integrity test and Bacterial Retention tests. Compiles method validation reports. * Support validation functions. Performs enumeration of Biological Indicators. Maintains user logs and BI history data. * Maintains environmental isolates and identifies environmental isolates. Performs evaluation of thermal resistance of spore formers. * Performs recertification of clean rooms and plant systems. * Schedules/coordinates /performs assigned projects compiles test data, writes summary and final reports. * Trains personnel. * Follows Teva Safety, Health, and Environmental policies and procedures. * Other duties, as assigned, or as business needs require. Primary Outcomes: * Perform all routine tests. * Perform method validation and validation support. Qualifications: * Education Required: B.S. in Microbiology or related sciences with 2 years of Microbiology course work. * Education Preferred: M.S. in Microbiology or related sciences with 3-4 years of Microbiology course work. * Experience Required: A minimum of 4 years of experience in a Microbiology Lab with at least 3 years in a pharmaceutical/aseptic filling environment. * Experience Preferred: A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Microbiology lab with at least 3 years in a pharmaceutical/ aseptic filling industry. * Specialized or Technical Knowledge, Licenses, Certifications needed: Thorough knowledge of all areas of testing in a pharmaceutical Microbiology laboratory. Good knowledge of cGMPs, GLP, FDA guidelines, USP and EP. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and good Computer skills.
