Sr. Software Engineer

The Senior Software Engineer position is responsible for analyzing, designing, coding, writing and running unit tests, and debugging software programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Works as a member of a project team to analyze use cases, produce detailed design, code, test, debug, configure and document software.
• Writes unit, regression, load and stress tests to verify software programs. Prepares any test data required.
• Finds, analyzes, and fixes software bugs.
• Writes and maintains report templates.
• Follows Company programming standards.
• Follows Company design methodology using UML when required.
• Produces detailed schedules and maintains them.
• Prepares weekly goals, reports progress to line manager.
• Mentors and guides less able or junior members of the development team.
• Provides direction to a small development team.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Managers / Supervisors /Team Leaders must:
• Ensure the health, safety and welfare of all employees, visitors and contractors within your area of control.
• Ensure all relevant sections of the Health and Safety Management plan are implemented and understood.
• Assess, review the effectiveness and consult with their team on any proposed changes of the OSHA Management System and ensure appropriate corrective actions are implemented.
• Ensure accident / incident investigations are conducted to determine their causes and take appropriate corrective action as required.
• Ensure injured workers are rehabilitated and an early return to the workplace is achieved.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislative requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field or its equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

Experience: Minimum five to eight years’ experience in writing Windows programs using a major OOP Windows programming language (such as Visual C++, C#, or Delphi). Experience with OOA/D methodologies. Experience in database programming using SQL with SQL Server. Some experience with multi-tier programming. Experience with a major development process, such as RUP or XP. At least two years’ supervisory experience. Prior experience in the gaming industry is a plus.

Skills, knowledge, and qualifications:
• Must have strong analytical and creative problem solving skills.
• Demonstrates excellent oral and written, communication and customer service skills.
• Demonstrates an extremely high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Must have strong communication skills, able to work independently and be team oriented.
• Must be a team player.

This position may require registration with the Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) and/or other gaming jurisdictions in which we operate.


PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
• Assigned duties are accomplished primarily in an office/production setting. Must be able to maneuver around an office/production setting, work at a desk/work station and respond to written and oral cues.
• Must have the manual dexterity to operate a computer and other necessary office/production equipment.
• May be required to bend, reach and lift up to 25 lbs.
