Sr. Technical Marketing Manager

Our Customer, a well known industrial high-tech product manufacturer, has an immediate opening for a Sr. Technical Marketing Manager.  This is new position due to tremendous corporate growth.  This is a hands-on position, though there will be several team members reporting to this position.

GENERAL FUNCTIONS AND SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:Execute project assignments. Working with the Market Research Specialists, conduct market research and prepare market business/financial opportunity analysis. Working with the Market Research Specialists, perform product and market specific research to support the ongoing development of product/market roadmaps for all divisions/companies. Issue written reports to support decision-making and the execution of the “business case” for new products. Screen potential product ideas and system applications against customer/market needs and competitive products.  Act as a support to database creation and maintenance on key customers / markets. Provide expertise to cross-functional teams and across operating facilities to translate and analyze product and system aspects against market needs and features. Assist in the development of product/Corporate branding strategies where applicable. Support the development of marketing programs, including the development and distribution of marketing and sales materials, data sheets, how to sell guides, promotional items, whitepapers, literature etc. Work with Applications Engineering to get feedback on customer end-use of products and services. Working with Product Management to seek feedback from Sales, customers, and/or internal sources to determine if product refinements are required to maximize commercial success and/or increase profitability of products/ systems.

REQUIREMENTS:

· BS in engineering or marketing with 10+ years experience in a technical marketing role. Experience in a high tech

  product industry is a plus, but not mandatory.  Experience from a manufacturing environment is mandatory.

Understanding of and experience working in multi-tiered sales channels is preferred.

· Excellent oral and written communication skills, including command of grammar and punctuation rules.

· Excellent interpersonal skills to facilitate interaction with internal and external relationships. 

· Business financial understanding and analytical capabilities (for non-finance professional).

· Working knowledge of software packages and computer platforms.

· Ability to perform web-based research as well as deploy a variety of research methods to target relevant markets and competition.

· Ability to work with vendors in support of collaterals as required.
