Detector Electronics Corporation, a UTC Fire and Security Company, is a global leader in industrial hazard safety solutions, providing flame detection, gas detection and hazard mitigation systems for critical industrial applications. We are currently accepting applications for a Staff Engineer.

Our successful candidate will be responsible for the design, development, and support of sensor-based products, assessing the feasibility of new sensors, and performing research, modeling, and concept designs. This role will be working within a small design team to analyze customer and regulatory requirements and identify solutions to achieve design goals, and will provide technical expertise, training, and support to internal customers and end users worldwide.

Qualified candidates will possess a BS degree in Engineering or a related field; MS or PhD preferred. Fifteen years of relevant work experience is required. Extensive knowledge of chemical-based sensors is desired. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are required.
