Strategic Commodity Specialist

This position is responsible for the leadership of assigned global sourcing activities to support production globally. Develops relationships with Strategic Vendors to procure high quality materials at the lowest possible cost. Manages supplier evaluation and development process.  Creates and maintains a work environment consistent with long term employee satisfaction and performance targets. Directs and manages supplier evaluation programs.  Supports the Strategic Commodity team in setting and measuring supplier improvement objectives. 

 

Qualified candidates must have a minimum of 5 years manufacturing experience which includes experience in strategic sourcing or procurement, a Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred. APICS (CPM) certification preferred. Candidates must also have proven ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals and legal documents.  Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Must be proficient in the use of computer programs such as MS Windows, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
