Strategic Procurement Analyst - Resin

Responsible for supporting the development and implementation of improvement strategies for Solo Cup’s purchase requirements with a primary focus on Plastic Resins. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Works closely with key cross-functional stakeholders including engineering, operations, plant purchasing, accounts payable, etc. to understand purchasing requirements and develop cost savings opportunities.  2. Serves as a key support representative for management between Solo Cup and strategic suppliers.  Responsibilities include supply base assessments, data analysis, RFP processes, supplier negotiation and selection support, contract development, agreement implementation, supplier performance measurement, etc. 3. Becomes a functional expert in using the information systems required to execute purchasing transactions (requisition through payment cycles).  Serves as a key purchasing information system “super-user”, coach and internal champion. 4. Conducts financial analysis using database and spreadsheet tools to support cost savings assessments, performance measurement and analytical business decisions. 5. Prepares and conducts ongoing measurement and communication of key performance indicators for the requisition, purchasing through payment cycles. 6. Develops process documentation to assist in the analysis of current versus best practice workflow patterns. Other Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Analyzes, recommends and assists in implementing improvements to Solo Cup’s materials inventory environment across operating locations. 2. Participates in the execution of purchasing transactions to support business requirements. 3. Assists in the preparation of business cases for senior management related to purchasing cost savings and continuous improvement programs. Job Requirements (Education, Work Experience, Certifications, Skills): BS degree in business or technical field required. At least 3 years experience in engineering, procurement, supply chain, finance or consulting.  Proven experience in supporting change across a multi-location manufacturing environment, including cross-functional team facilitation.  Successful experience in an enterprise wide business improvement program support role, proactive approach and ability to reach aggressive time phased business objectives.  Detailed understanding of best practices in the areas of purchasing and materials management.  Hands on technology skills including MS Office and experience operating in an ERP information systems environment for the requisition, purchasing and payables cycles. E-Procurement process and systems knowledge.  Excellent communication, analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills. LOCATION: US-IL-HIGHLAND PARK
