This position is also responsible for actively promoting a safe work environment, and for sharing knowledge and effectively communicating with direct reports, colleagues and customers.MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY 1. Effectively develops employees' talents by providing training, coaching, regular feedback and performance reviews. Provides employees with feedback on a regular basis, and utilizes the documentation of the feedback to accurately support employee performance in the MAP process. Provides employees’ with the training resources necessary to perform their job and improve their performance. Develops qualified operators and back up operators to ensure equipment coverage, and to ready employees for promotion opportunities. 2. Leads and directs work activities to meet production targets. Equipment is properly crewed to meet production goals. Resources/materials are available and staged to maintain scheduled workflow. Seeks alternatives to solve complex problems in a timely manner. Area meets department production and quality targets. 3. Supports department initiatives and action items. Proactively converts business objectives into department/function action items. Ensures actions taken are aligned with organization objectives. Implements and oversees the execution of action items. 4. Implement and support new technologies and systems to drive process improvement. Completes process control rounds to confirm process changes are in place. Utilizes and leverages department systems to achieve desired outcomes and optimize efficiency. 5. Effectively communicates with and influences a diverse range of individuals and groups. Demonstrates sensitivity to the concerns or interests of others when conveying and receiving information. Establishes and maintains ongoing relationships with key customers to effectively meet and exceed customer expectations. Conducts effective team meetings, at least monthly, and documents meeting content. RESPONSIBILITY FOR WORK OF OTHERS:Responsible for employees in assigned area and shift. FINANCIAL RESONSIBILITY: Understands the financial drivers for their functional area and how they relate to the department budget.Education/Experience: B.A./B.S. degree with 2-4 years of progressive leadership experience, A.A. degree with 5+ years progressive leadership experience, or H.S. Diploma plus 8-10 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or print environment. Knowledge and Skills: Recognizes and meets the needs of business partners. Effective written, verbal and interpersonal skills. Works well in a team environment. Demonstrated ability to motivate people, address and resolve issues and share knowledge. Computer literate, with working knowledge of MS Word and Excel. Able to work a flexible schedule, including overtime. SAP experience a plus.
