Supply Chain Specialist

Seeking highly motivated and exceptionally talented associates who can help define and construct our product development and manufacturing processes. The Supply Chain Specialist is responsible for the complete technical management of assigned materials and/or parts in the Supply Chain and for assigned commercial planning and management.  In many cases this will include both foreign and domestic suppliers. The Supply Chain Specialist serves as primary liaison between design engineering, manufacturing, and the supply chain. The successful candidate will possess strong team player abilities including a demonstrated character of integrity, and an ability to communicate technical details and to articulate Infinia’s goals and vision to suppliers in a clear and concise manner. Responsibilities · Sourcing, locating and identifying candidate suppliers.· Supporting the supplier selection process.· Manage and develop supplier relationships.· Facilitating supplier input in concurrent engineering processes. · Managing supplier part and process validation, including supplier Cpk studies.· Planning supplier capacity, delivery schedules and logistics.· Assist with creation of Infinia supplier quality program.· Administer supplier quality program for assigned parts and materials.· Develop and administer supplier qualification requirements.· Qualify suppliers.· Develop and administer supplier certification requirements.· Assist with negotiation of supply contracts.· Administer and manage change control for assigned parts and materials. Essential Functions  · Work closely with design engineering to communicate design requirements and determine validation methods· Conduct design reviews with suppliers, develop preliminary manufacturing plans, oversee technology transfer to contract manufacturers, review internal and external documentation· Travel to key suppliers, interfacing with supplier senior operations management to resolve issues and manage the introduction of processes and procedures that benefit the quality and reliability of purchased material· Work closely with production planning and production floor personnel to ensure material deliveries meet production needs· Conduct research involving new methods, materials, and technologies with particular focus on improvement of system performance margin and cost improvement· Participate in future product architecture discussions and technology development Specialty Description · This Specialist position requires extensive knowledge of commercial, ‘off the shelf’ (COTS) engineering items such as fasteners, enclosures, connectors, tubing and wiring, pumps, fans, and bulk items such as lubricants and paint.  The position also requires a working knowledge of raw materials including metals and alloys in plate, sheet, and structural forms.  Knowledge of national and international specifications and standards is required.  · Develop and maintain a library of material specifications for purchased raw materials and off the shelf purchased items· Assign Infinia controlled numbers, maintain revision control and use ECN process to publish specifications· Maintain specification templates for raw material, purchased and Infinia specification publications Education/ExperienceRequired:5+ years of experience as Supply Chain Engineer or Manufacturing EngineerKnowledge of Quality Tools and TechniquesAuthorization to work in the U.S.A. Ability to travel extensively – both domestic and international travelExperience with Microsoft Office Applications Desired:Bachelor of Arts or Science in Engineering Disciplines Wide range of annual production volume experienceAutomotive supplier experienceDomestic and foreign supply base contacts Lean manufacturing training and experience    Company: System One Location: Kennewick, WA Status: Full Time, Employee Job Category: Manufacturing/Production/Operations Relevant Work Experience: 5+ to 7 Years Career Level: Manager (Manager/Supervisor of Staff) Education: Bachelor's Degree Company: System One Email: Apply by Email
