System Integration Manager

The Horsley Company, a leader in the baggage handling industry specializing in the design, manufacture, and installation of turnkey baggage handling solutions, is seeking a System Integration Manager to join its rapidly growing team in the Salt Lake City area.

 

BASIC FUNCTION

 

Manages and leads the Systems Engineering Group with, and coordinates, design engineering, commissioning, testing and completion of all technical requirements of projects. Interfaces with customers, project managers, and engineering to achieve successful project execution.  Manages all technical requirements of a project.



PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

 Manages and leads the Systems Engineering Group with, and supports estimating with all technical requirements of proposals. Develop cost savings and/or performance enhancing alternatives for estimates to improve our competitive. advantages and maintain industry leadership position.Manages and leads the Systems Engineering Group with, and provides, simulation input data and analysis. Coordinates simulation efforts during estimating, design, and contracted simulation efforts.Manages and leads the Systems Engineering Group with, and creates and executes presentations to customers as required.Manages and leads the Systems Engineering Group with, and coordinates, and facilitates the project engineering design and development between mechanical, electrical, and software engineering. Assures specifications are understood and maintained. Facilitates RFI/RFP and change order technical discussions between project engineers and customer.Manages and leads the Systems Engineering Group with, and facilitates, the development and execution of project commissioning plans and acceptance test plans.Manages and leads the Systems Engineering Group with, and coordinates, planning and scheduling between customers, project manager and project engineers and engineering managers.Manages and Leads the Systems Engineering Group with, and establishes priorities and conducts long term planning in order to establish department objectives to support the Systems Integration department Goals. Coordinates the development and documentation of inter-departmental and intra-departmental work flow processes, procedures and work instructionsManages and leads the Systems Engineering Group with keeping current with technology in baggage handling and relative competition.

Manages and leads the Systems Engineering Group with, and ensures, that all forms, records and correspondence are completed accurately and submitted on a timely basis.

Manages and approves timecards, vacation requests, scheduling and planning of Systems Engineering resources. Processes and performs performance evaluations and payroll change forms. Processes disciplinary reports as required.

Identifies needs for, and solicits additional resources. Interviews candidates and provides feedback to HR for the hiring process.

Performs additional duties/assignments that may be required from time to time.



 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

 

·  Minimum BSEE, BCS, or BSME Degree or equivalent.



·  Fifteen years experience in project management of technically related systems exceeding $5M. (BHS industry preferred.)

 

·  Five years project management experience or equivalent.

 

·  Knowledgeable of industrial computer use and operations, automation controls and PLC’s mechanical and electrical design, electro-mechanical design, and electrical and mechanical installation.

 

·  Strong interpersonal skills and a proven team player.

 

·  Strong leadership and delegation skills.
