Systems Analyst - Engr. Systems Support

The position will analyze, design, code, test and document system changes to address new system requirements or technical bugs. The position must assure compliance with software validation guidelines and follow a structured software development life cycle methodology.MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:The position must analyze, design, code, test and document production system changes to support the application software and systems software components. Specific activities include:1. Participating in the functional requirements phase of a project to understand the business requirements and to help develop the technical requirements for a new system or major system enhancement.2. Supporting the Technical Lead on the project in creating system design and identifying alternatives from a technical perspective. 3. Coding and testing software solutions within the confines of an identified project or as a support activity for existing systems.4. Creating and updating documentation related to system design, testing, operational support procedures, change control documentation and other project documentation as deemed necessary by the project.QualificationsThis position is required to have knowledge and experience in some or all of the following areas:· Client/ server development experience· Web development experience· Java, .NET· Relational database & PL/SQL coding experience· Validation experience· Systems analysis and design experience· SDLC methodology experienceTotal combined years of experience 2-4 yearsThe position must possess skills in:· Understanding uses and limitations of software development tools· When to use the tools and how to trouble shoot system issues· When to get vendors involved· How to use a variety of resources available to trouble shoot.· Communicating with users and team members at appropriate times and in appropriate level of detail· How to portray technical issues and problems to best communicate priority and urgency so that issues are fully understood and appropriately addressed.
