Job Summary
Responsible for sanitation requirements for machinery, equipment and facilities. Develops and maintains plant sanitation programs and procedures. Collaborates with engineers, suppliers, contractors and plant partners to ensure a clean and sterile facility. Assures compliance with regulatory agencies in regard to sanitation requirements and the use of cleaning and exterminating agents. Responsible for managing and owning various functions of the business and creating an engaged and team oriented work force in order to improve business results. 1 year related experience.
Position Responsibilities
Follow through on plant results of the Listeria monitoring programs and extended run program swabs to detect and eliminate sources of contamination.Review and analyze data generated by the QA 1033 Listeria monitoring procedure weekly.Review and analyze special sample data generated from investigations weekly.Review and analyze data generated from Corrective Actions for both Listeria monitoring program and the extended run programs.Review and analyze chemical usages and water usages and respond to trends. Communicate with Plant Management, the results of investigations along with recommendations for corrective and preventive actions. Evaluate sanitation labor and maintain master cleaning schedule requirementsMaintain updated machine specific cleaning procedures
Position Qualifications
Basic Microbiology and knowledge of the microbial ecology of refrigerated/frozen, ready to eat, and meat processing facilities.Excellent written and oral communication skills, which enable this person to communicate with a wide range of people from the cleaning crews to top management.Technical knowledge of COP and CIP cleaning processes, sanitation chemicals, sanitation equipment, and sanitary design of food processing equipment.BS degree in microbiology, chemistry, food science, or meat science, or equivalent years of experience and training.Familiarity with Regulatory / USDA requirements.Flexibility in regards to changes in work schedule.
