Technical Support Engineer, Microcalorimetry

 

Location:  Lindon, Utah

 

An immediate vacancy exists for a Technical Support Engineer, Microcalorimetry.  This is a worldwide support position, based in Lindon Utah.  Typical tasks of the position include, but are not limited to:

 

·  Responsible to provide technical support on Microcalorimetry products to field service engineers and customers involved with installing, troubleshooting, or repair.

·  Develops and maintains installation, troubleshooting and repair instructions and procedures.

·  Develops and provides service training to Service Engineers.

·  Develops and maintains recommended service parts lists & recommended inventory levels.

·  Provides input on development of Microcalorimetry service and support products.  Understands and promotes these products to the organization.

·  Leads service effort associated with new product development.  Insuring serviceability, developing service manuals, and providing training.

·  Provides professional communication, internally and externally on service related issues.  Ensures that service engineers around the world are up-to-date with technical information necessary to provide prompt, effective support to our customers.

·  Monitors field quality performance, and reports hardware & software design, reliability, and quality concerns to engineering & manufacturing.  Championing the cause of the customer to the organization.

·  This position will require worldwide travel, estimated at 50%.

 

The successful candidate will have a combination of knowledge, skills and experience that would include the following:

 

·  2 – 4 year degree in a technical or science related field.

·  Prior analytical instrument field service experience.

·  Self-motivated and able to work independently with little direct supervision.

·  Good oral and written communications skills.

·  Strong engineering aptitude for electronic/electrical and mechanical systems.

·  Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with a wide variety of individual from around the business and around the world.

·  Must be able to demonstrate analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to organize and prioritize work activities, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
