Technician, Engineering

Job Summary – Provides technical support to engineering teams associated with new product introductions. General Functions – Responsible for working as part of engineering team to ensure new product implementation  including by not limited to, improved product flow, reduced scrap, reduced lead time, and reduced product cost. Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in the following: Prepare and deliver presentations in process development team meetings. Metrics charting and tracking thorough use of computer software. Thorough understanding of budget process and conduct budget analysis. Prepare cell layout designs. On machine programming of both CNC and Robotic Polishing equipment. Conduct process flow time studies and make recommendations to engineering staff. Ensure compliance with OCPs and GMPs. Develop and write ZWI associated with new process. Familiar with routers and bill of materials Familiar with statistical process control techniques and work with QA representatives to conform techniques to Zimmer quality standards. This is not an exhaustive list of duties or functions and may not necessarily comprise all of the "essential functions" for purposes of the ADA Expected Areas of Competence (i.e. KSAs) – Must have the ability to quickly learn new software. Must have the ability to troubleshoot and problem solve. Must demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills Must demonstrate the ability to work effectively with teamsEducation Requirements – A degree in an engineering discipline preferred but appropriate work experience will be considered. Skill Requirements – A background in production and operations is preferred.  Working experience with CAD systems with a strong background in Unigraphics desired.  Licenses/Certifications –  Travel Requirements – Less than 1%  Education: High School Diploma / GEDJob Level: 1 - 2 yearsPercent Travel: 1-10%
