Scope of Position:
Lead new development projects. Direct the efforts of Technicians and Designers on projects. Coordinate efforts of project team members from Manufacturing, Marketing, Product Line Management, Quality and Procurement. Provide technical support for existing products to internal and external customers. Maintain product documentation.
Location of position is Keller, Texas
Day to Day Responsibilities:
1. Plan and execute the design, development, documentation and manufacturing of field installable fiber optic connectors, splices and accessories.
2. Specify, design and develop related equipment and processes.
3. Meet customer requirements and provide technical support.
Travel Requirements:
Less than 5%. (Some international)
Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time:
40 hrs/week
Required Education:
BS Mechanical Engineering
Required Years and Area of Experience:
3 to 5 years of telecommunications experience preferred.
Required Skills:
1. Manage to completion on time and within budget, multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
2. Design products or manufacturing processes using Pro-E (Wildfire).
3. Effective in a hand on lab environment.
4. Insure that manufacturing requirements are properly developed and documented in conjunction with appropriate manufacturing, production, and engineering personnel.
5. Prepare all specifications, documents, and forms necessary to release equipment for production and sales in the appropriate manufacturing facility.
6. Provide information and technical assistance to manufacturing, engineering, and production personnel as required.
7. Provide on-going technical support to manufacturing throughout the life of each assigned project/process.
8. Document all new ideas for possible patent submission.
Desired Skills:
1. Proficient with Pro-E Wildfire and WindChill a plus.
2. Knowledge of injection molding procurement and production process.
Soft Skills:
1. Communicate effectively, in writing and verbally, to internal and external customers.
2. Work effectively as a team member, leader and facilitator.
3. Fluent in English, written and spoken.
4. Some Spanish a plus
