Charter Steel is currently looking for a Telecommunications Analyst to join our team.

 

The Telecommunications Analyst’s role is to develop and coordinate solutions to support Charter Manufacturing’s voice communications requirements, and ensure the integrity and availability of in-house voice, data, and its associated network connections. The Telecommunication Analyst will support Charter Manufacturing’s 7 sites across three states as well as overseas locations.  The will work closely with the management team to research and provide strategic solutions to best fit the needs of the business unit they are working with.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

·  Bachelor’s degree in the field of telecommunications or computer science and 6 years equivalent work experience.

·  Working technical knowledge of Avaya S8500, S8300, G650 products, voice mail, interactive voice services, and call management systems.

·  Hands-on knowledge of the configuration and optimization of telecommunications equipment and voice/data equipment.

·  Working technical knowledge of current Internet and network protocols, operating systems, and standards.

·  Working technical knowledge of current telecommunications practices, protocols, and principles in manufacturing environments.

·  Knowledge of cabling and wiring systems, design, and installation. 

·  Ability to operate tools, components, peripherals, and testing accessories.

·  Experience provisioning data and voice communication services.

·  Ability to conduct research into telecommunications issues and products.

·  Demonstrated experience in working with managers to understand business strategy and be able to research and recommend needed telecommunication solutions.

·  Ability to juggle multiple priorities and manage projects to aggressive deadlines. Excellent trouble-shooting, communication and customer service skills.

·  Strong interpersonal skills to work with internal customers at all levels.

·  Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

·  Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunication related field and 10 years of equivalent experience.

·  CCNP and CCIE written and or equivalent knowledge a plus.

·  Working knowledge of network security tools, security practices as they pertain to Telecommunications, DMZ's, VPN/RAS, Firewalls, IDS/IPS, NAC and a track record of maintaining solid audit posture.

·  In-depth knowledge of Telecom concepts, strategies and methodologies; thorough knowledge of practices and procedures of Telecom systems and expertise spanning multiple platforms/protocols:  OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, MPLS, Frame Relay, ATM, TCP/IP and DNS/DHCP, RADIUS, TACACS

·  Knowledge of manufacturing business operations and an understanding of global business and technology trends in the manufacturing industry.

·  Ability to read and interpret technical documents and procedure manuals.
