Tool Design Engineer

As a Market leader our Client has been in the plate processing industry for 100 years, and manufactures large and small high-tolerance combination Cutting Machines.

Job Description:The position will be Engineering new tooling designs and updating old designs for the company's Machines and Ironworkers. Needs to have excellent communication skills to work with Customers, Customer Service, Sales, Marketing, and the Shop Floor. Must be a good team player who will work with others to seek out and accept input from others. Someone who is constantly looking for improvements to existing products or new product, offering suggestions.

Requirements:A BSME or BSMET is required. Solid modeling and detailing experience in USG I-DEAS or ProE.   Proficient in Microsoft Office products [Excel, Word, Power Point] Strong Background in Engineering Statics and Dynamics.  Find Load Centers for Cluster Tools and Shapes.  Stress Load Calculations. Tolerance and Stack-ups relating to function and cost. Manage Drawing Library. Understanding of Manufacturing Processes. Materials and Heat Treat Specs. Ability to calculate fastener loads. Ability to concept preliminary designs quickly for quoting. Be familiar with all structural shapes, their materials, designations, sizes features, tolerances, etc.  Extrusions. Design Weldments Developing project timelines and determining project requirements. Other duties as assigned.
