Tool Store Attendant

Sandvik Tooling, a world leader in tools and tooling systems for metal cutting, as well as components and high-volume blanks in cemented carbide is seeking a Tool Store Attendant in Mebane, NC.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

In this key role, the Tool Store Attendant will be responsible for all consumable and durable inventory located within the facility. This will call for the individual to maintain computerized inventory control systems. This shift will support Tool Stores on the 3rd shift.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Interact daily with Management, Engineering, Quality and Logistics in a professional manner to portray the Logistics Department in a reflective positive manner.

• Sound organizational skills, read drawings, know the consumable and durable inventory items that the organization uses, to include the function they perform.

• Able to understand what needs to be done, take initiative, be innovative and take the required actions.

• Work with the Logistics Supervisor and other organizational members to control the cost of stocked inventory.

• Working knowledge of a personal computer with skills to maneuver various software packages (MS Word, MS Excel, Procureit, Cribware, etc.).

• Identify and suggest obsolete inventory to gain cost and supplier reductions.

• Monitor, analyze, and administer daily decisions in support of formal MRP actions.

• Responsible for all item master and basic data information on assigned stock.

• Issue and receive inventory into computerized inventory systems and put items on location.

• Familiar with inventory processes to include cycle counting, inventory discrepancies, developing metrics and methods used to investigate inventory issues and take appropriate action.

• Work with Logistics Supervisor and other organizational members to achieve department and organizational goals and objectives (ISO 9001, 18001, 14000, Fair Play, etc,)

YOUR PROFILE

The ideal candidate will possess an Associates Degree in Business (preferred) or 2 years relative inventory experience. The candidate should be familiar with inventory processes to include cycle counting, inventory discrepancies, and methods used to investigate inventory discrepancies and take appropriate action. Must be proficient in computer related functions: To include but not limited to email, MS Word, MS Excel (intermediate functions), and MRP inventory packages. Sound organizational skills, read drawings, know the consumable and durable inventory items that the organization uses, to include the function they perform. Must be willing to work any shift. Must have interpersonal skills, a self starter and a team player. Able to adapt to constant changes, evaluate the situation at hand and take required action.
