Tooling Design Engineer

Established Manufacturing Company who is number one in their Industry is looking for a Tooling Design Engineer who will be responsible for the design and development of tooling at a highly technical level, solid modeling, and creation of 3D geometry.

 

 

Responsibilities:Develop specifications for quotation purposes, which involves interfacing with Tooling team, manufacturing, planning, vendors, and customers.  Provide technical guidance for drafters, toolmakers, and other personnel to ensure customer specifications are met.Manage development of resultant products including documentation, part run-off, cost and other relevant items.Set and meet all schedule milestones including on-time delivery.Control costs through design and build and insure profitability targets are met.Capable of designing and detailing tooling of a high technical level and also capable of tuning and evaluating.Capable of supporting Manufacturing, R&D, Applications Lab, Sale Representatives, and customers with technical information.  May include field tips to customer plants.Handle various special projects determined by Tooling Manager.

 

Requirements:BS in Mechanical Engineering or 10 years experience in design drafting.  Experience with SolidWorks software is required.5 years experience in tooling design, knowledge of polymers and plastics applications along with knowledge of Industrial Pneumatics and machines.  Thorough understanding of mechanical tooling design of a highly technical nature.  Position may require some overnight travel.
