US Transportation Planning Manager

DESCRIPTION / RESPONSIBILITES:

Responsibilities of this position include working in partnership with the Customer Service, Logistics, Supply Planning, Plant Materials Management, and GBS to provide efficient outbound order and inbound purchase order transportation planning.

 

Key Responsibilities of this position include:

·  Managing all activities and process related to transportation planning

·  Direct supervision of the transportation planning team

·  Analyzing the transportation plan to ensure cost and service objectives is met.

·  Working closely with the inbound and outbound process teams to identify process improvement opportunities

·  Increasing transportation planning productivity

·  Pro-actively identify and recommend service improvement opportunities 

·  Ability to lead and develop direct reports while fostering a team environment

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

·  Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics or related field required

·  5 + years demonstrated experience in Supply Chain Management, Transportation, Logistics, Customer Service, Distribution Operations or similar field

·  2+ years of project management experience as part of a project team responsible for design and implementation

·  Demonstrated ability to work effectively with network modeling, freight consolidation or TMS software

·  Ability to work with any Microsoft product and ERP system (SAP)

·  Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with multiple departments and levels  (internally and externally) to achieve results

·  Demonstrated ability to analyze data to make cost/service decisions is required 

·  Must have a systems background and capability to understand complex interfaces between SAP and TMS software

·  Knowledge of transportation regulations and policies

·  Excellent organizational, communication, problem solving, analytical and decision making abilities required

·  Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
