VA/VE Project Engineer

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

1.  VA/VE Cross-functional Team Leader.

2.Responsible to propose value improvements to product teams, and encourage engineering groups to propose improvements.

3. Assist in project management of VA/VE projects by:

a. Acting as project coordinator on VA cost reduction projects.

b. Documenting and distributing engineering cost reduction (VA) and VE efforts, and tracking progress toward Snow Eng corporate goals.

c. Tracking COE and Product Team progress toward VE project cost targets.

d. Collect and maintain appropriate project documentation (verification & validation results) to determine if cost reduction projects are ready for implementation.

4. Meet with cost reduction team monthly.

5.  Maintains cost reduction matrix for up to 3 years future production and works to get reductions into each Product’s plan.

6.  Break down Marketing cost targets into individual VE project cost targets.

7.  Assist Product Team Managers in creating engineering cost feasibility studies for potential new products.

8. Visit suppliers to determine potential cost savings, engineering capabilities, and manufacturing/Q.A. methodology.

9.  Coordinate and document warranty reduction efforts with each team.

10.  Liaison between engineering and service/warranty.  Main point of Snow Engineering contact for Service organization.

11. Represent Engineering in Service/Warranty meetings (Pulse, Field Impact Analysis)

12.Assists Service and Publications with obtaining timely engineering information on pertinent model year changes, so that these organizations can determine impact to dealers, customers, and publications (setup instructions, specification sheets, owner’s manuals, service manuals).

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

1. Basic knowledge of design, materials and manufacturing methods.

2. Possess ability to communicate and motivate associates, working close with all levels of personnel.

3. Possess good verbal and written communication skills.

4. Proficient in various computer software programs: SAP, Microsoft Excel, Word and Project.

5. Possess high level of understanding of engineering concepts and practices.

6. Handles data confidentially.

7. Must have strong project management skills.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

 

1. Bachelor of Science degree preferred or equivalent level of understanding.
