Vertical Packaging Machine Operator POSITION REQUIREMENTS: One year of production experience preferred Must have good written and verbal communication skills Must be able to work a flexible work schedule Must have good mathematical skills Computer experience a plus Must be able to lift up to 50 lb. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred Must be able to work up to 12 hours in a refrigerated environment 34°f. to 45°f POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Meet daily schedules for number of bags to package. On each shift, expected to meet case quotas, which are directly related to machine efficiency. Produce quality bags. Bag quality refers to the proper seals, code date, graphics and registration of the bag. Minimize waste of packaging material. Keep track of all film waste and document and report to Supervisor. Maintain work area clean and orderly. Monitor correct weight of product in bags. Follow government guidelines. Provide daily upkeep of machinery. Report any deficiencies to supervisor. Ensure quality control by monitoring each packaging machine' metal detector and report any deficiencies to supervisor. Practice safe working habits. The packaging equipment is only as safe as its operator is. Follow good manufacturing practices at all times. NOTE: No tape, string or cardboard allowed on machines at any time. May perform other assignments from time to time as directed by management.
