Honeywell products touch the lives of most people everyday, whether you’re flying on a plane, driving a car, heating or cooling a home, furnishing an apartment, taking medication for an illness or playing a sport. Join the excitement!   We are seeking qualified candidates for a key position as Vice President of Engineering at Tridium, one of Honeywell’s companies located in Richmond, VA. The Vice President of Engineering is part of the Tridium Senior Management team, leading and growing an engineering team that develops industry leading software frameworks for use in device to the enterprise applications in the fields of building automation, industrial control, medical devices, Man-to-Machine (M2M) and home automation.  In this position, you will work closely with Sales, Product Management, and Manufacturing to create the five-year Strategic Plan and ensure delivery of new products and product changes according to the business’s Annual Operating Plan.  Principle Responsibilities of the role include:  Organizational Development: Â· Recruit and develop software engineering, hardware engineering, test and documentation staff in line with the needs of the business.· Drive results through inspired leadership and accountability with a focused and disciplined approach to product development consistent with best practices in the company and the industry.· Empower team members to achieve their best through collaboration and take pride in achieving common goals.· Foster individual career development and high morale · Attract and retain top talent.R & D Portfolio Management: Â· Think strategically and drive technical vision.· Maintain the ability to focus on the important issues and prioritize efforts in a rapidly changing and dynamic environment.·  Together with the management team build and maintain technology roadmaps aligned with short and long term business growth objectives.  Evaluate new technologies relevant to the business. Â· Manage the company’s IP strategy.· Collaborate and negotiate with product marketing on project scope, functionality and product cost.· Develop functional requirements and detail design specifications? Minimum of 10 years of experience in product delivery environment. Experienced in the management and development of staffPreferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in business or related field.
