Vision Engineer (Software)

Position Summary:

 

Under minimal direction of an assigned lead or manager, will work on vision software and hardware including camera, lens and illuminations that run on machines.

 

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities: 

 

1.  Participate in all phases of the project, including design, testing and integration as required.

2.  Follow established engineering procedures and specifications for design and development of vision software.

3.  Support manufacturing floor as required.

4.  Interface with customers and sales on projects as required.

 

Supervisory Responsibility:  May provide work leadership and training to lower level technical or professional employees.

 

Qualifications: 

 

Ø  Education:  Bachelor of Science in Sciences or Engineering.  Master’s degree preferred.

 

Ø  Experience:  Five to seven years experience in image processing and vision system development including camera, lens, software and illumination.

 

Ø  Skills/Technical Requirements:  Practical experience with image processing, machine vision, pattern recognition, optics, C++, windows programming and real time operating systems.  Excellent oral and written communication skills.

 

Job Conditions: 

 

Domestic or international travel may be required.

Prolonged sitting at a computer terminal; use of keyboard
